Description

GAS (Interferon Gamma Activation Site) is a specific DNA sequence located in the promoter region of certain genes. These sites are targets for signal transduction and transcription activator 1 (STAT1) binding. IFN γ binds to IFN γ R1 and IFN γ R2 receptors to form a complex, activating STAT1 and forming homodimers, which are then transferred to the nucleus. In the nucleus, activated STAT1 homodimers bind to GAS and initiate transcription of downstream genes. These genes are typically associated with immune responses and cellular signaling. The GAS activation site therefore plays a crucial role in regulating the immune system's response.

The GAS Reporter HCT116 Cell Line of Jiman Biotechnology is a Luciferase reporter gene cell line. After binding to IFN γ receptors, downstream signaling pathways can be activated. Subsequently, the expression of luciferase is determined by measuring fluorescence signals, indirectly evaluating the degree of ligand influence on signaling pathways. The Luciferase reading represents the activation effect of the signaling pathway and can therefore be used for in vitro efficacy evaluation of IFN γ - related drugs.
