Cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1) is a member of the G protein-coupled receptor family (GPCR). It is primarily expressed in the CNS and some peripheral neurons, particularly abundant in the basal ganglia, hippocampus, cerebellum, cerebral cortex, as well as in some non-neuronal cells and tissues such as leukocytes and testes. It inhibits adenylate cyclase activity in a dose-dependent manner.
