Background |
The IL18RA gene encodes interleukin-18 receptor α (IL-18R α) , which, as a member of the IL-1 receptor family, is a core regulatory node of the IL-18 signaling pathway. The protein encoded by this gene is composed of 515 amino acids, including extracellular domain, transmembrane domain and intracellular TIR domain. It activates nf-κb and MAPK signaling pathway by forming a complex with coreceptor IL-18R β, regulation of innate and adaptive immune responses. IL-18RΑ is widely expressed in synovial fibroblasts, T cells, B cells, myeloid monocytes, etc. , its abnormal activation is closely related to autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, systemic lupus erythematosus and psoriasis. |
