Description

ADCC, or antibody-dependent cell-mediated cytotoxicity, refers to the cytotoxic effect mediated by immune cells expressing Fc receptors which directly kill target cells by recognizing the Fc portion of antibodies that bind specifically to them. Today, the mechanism of ADCC is used to detect and assess the efficacy of antibodies or target cells. The killing of target cells is the endpoint of this activation pathway, used in classical ADCC bioactivity assays.

The ADCC FcγRIIIa(158V) DDX35TM Jurkat Effector Cell Line from Genomeditech employs engineered Jurkat cells as effector cells, stably expressing the human FcγRIIIa receptor (158V) and firefly luciferase driven by transcription factors. The biological activity of antibodies in ADCC is quantified through luminescence produced by the NFAT pathway activation, and effector cell luminescence activity is quantified by bioluminescence readings. This method provides high signal values with low background and offers customization of ADCC cell lines and ADCC activity detection services.
